Event Summary

The Midwest School Safety Summit, scheduled for January 16 & 17 at the Lansing Center in Lansing, MI, is a collaborative effort centered around the theme ‘Prevent to Protect.’ The summit addresses the urgent need for safety on K-12 and higher education campuses. It provides a platform to share national best practices, methods, and programs for a comprehensive approach to school safety, covering topics such as preventing school violence, enhancing safety and security, and addressing mental and behavioral health needs. The event aims to empower attendees with strategies that can be implemented in their school communities to engage all stakeholders in the shared mission of preventing to protect for Safe and Sound Schools. Topics covered include physical safety, culture, climate, community, mental and behavioral health, health and wellness, leadership, law and policy, and operations and emergency management. The summit is suitable for individuals passionate about improving school safety, particularly those in the K-12 community and its partners.
